In the past few years, the filmmaker has acquired embroiled in a number controversies, the most surprisingly being the nepotism debate. Ever because Kangana Ranaut infamously referred to as the Dharma Productions head honcho “the flag-bearer of nepotism” on Koffee With Karan, Karan’s title is the first to strike the idea every time there is a speak about nepotism.

The suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput reignited the nepotism debate as the phrase on the road is that the 34-year-old actor took the excessive step as he was once a sufferer of expert bullying. I hope that tides over and I hope that the higher matters he is acknowledged for - in particular for being a filmmaker and a very profitable producer - these matters shine thru and that is what he sooner or later need to be recognised for,” he added.
